My work dwells in a netherworld between urban fine art and contemporary graphics, A collision of real and digital media it is primarily illustration based with a firm foundation in drawing, I focus mainly on the human form particularly the face, interweaving elements from the animal kingdom often reflecting the absurdity of human nature… <see more artwork here> @ <http://www.behance.net/>
This work is great… lots of emotion in the faces and really pushed with the style. It would be great for concept drawings for a film. Definitely check out the full gallery at the bottom of the link.
This is film geeky, but I’m totally into the Criterion Collection and movie posters… so pretty much heaven of an image library! This stuff is amazing inspiration, such different takes on all the stories. You can still feel the movies tone, but the artist(s) take and style comes through so strong. <See all the kick ass images here>
This is the photo stream of a photographer that doesn’t have much to say for himself in words, but plenty to show in his photos. I’m really into the locations with filming in mind. Great stuff… <you can see the rest of his work here>
“In the California desert, a tire comes to life and embarks on a killing spree as an audience watches the events unfold through binoculars. The tire kills by vibrating intensely and psycho-kinetically causing people’s heads to explode.”… <See more posters here> @ <http://www.movieposteraddict.com/>
That’s pretty cool that this came up randomly. On the site the second painted poster is by classic concept artist Boris Vallejo. His stuff is classic. He did a Barbarella poster, the original Connan, even some star wars art. And of course that wicked poster for Vacation. Funny, I do wanna check out this film! Can’t wait to see the filmmakers get personality into a tire.
The original Star Wars was a miracle of seat-of-the-pants film-making that captured the world’s imagination and boosted science fiction to new popularity.
But could something like Star Wars even get made today? There’s plenty of reason to doubt it… <read the full article here> @ <http://io9.com/>

Imaginary Friends Studios was founded by friends, Stanley “Artgerm” Lau, one of the top artists on Deviantart.com with close to 6 million page; Kendrick “Kunkka” Lim, a game designer who worked previously at a Tokyo-based game studio; and Kai “Ukitakumuki” Lim, who at 19 had already art directed two major game mods for Half-Life 2 including Hull Breach and Nuclear Dawn.
Imaginary is much more than a concept art, comics and illustration studio. Corrado Vanelli’s Brand of TwistFantasyVisuals Dazzles Viewers’Eyes
It appears digital art programs like Corel Painter and Photoshop are attracting all great modern contemporary artists, as individuals like Corrado Vanelli can’t help but use such software to churn out these wonderful pieces of fantasy art. I can’t complain; I’m actually very grateful for these twisted yet beautiful illustrations of women, which are quickly becoming some of my favorite art finds of the month… <read full story and see all the pics here> @ <http://www.trendhunter.com/>
